Twitch does Amazon Prime Day for 36 hours straight, featuring their top talent, top brands, and a whole lot of insane fun.

Twitch had a dream: getting in on the Amazon Prime Day frenzy by pulling together some of their most popular streamers to champion some amazing online deals in the most irreverent (but effective) Twitch way possible. But what does that look like? Enter Butcher Bird Studios, which shaped this general concept into a fun-filled, mad-capped ode to cyber-capitalism, streaming for 36 straight hours, featuring over 120 products, and blasting through Twitch’s sales goals AND targets for new Twitch Prime registrations.

Key to the creative here was a loose narrative we applied to the happening: These Twitch celebrities all live together in an odd, shopping-channel-style house… and rent is due! (In fact, their “landlord” was a mannequin right outside the front door, voiced by an off-screen actor). Our creative team fashioned a script that contextualized each product within this quirky concept, and built a set that was a delicious parody of QVC.

On the interactive side, we operated Twitch’s Blacksmith sales extension, which sent viewers straight to the Amazon product pages for each featured item. Within this general framework, our streamers playfully showcased a wide range of products: high-end gaming peripherals, giant Jenga, a Thor-hammer-shaped meat tenderizer (which descended from the ceiling amid cracks of lightning), 50 bags of marshmallows, and many more. And of course, because of the free-form nature of live, things went best when they went awry…and we were ready to run with it.
